If you are having difficulty selecting Sections in Speedgrader, one must "clear" the previous selection for it to reset before making the next selection. Here's what the big-brains at Canvas said..
In SpeedGrader, when a section is in bold, that means it’s being applied as a filter. To reset the view, the teacher can click on Show All Sections, which will remove all filters, and then they can filter again by section.
What I can recommend is to have the teacher enable the "Feature Option" called "Performance and usability upgrades for speegrader.
If you are interested it testing this 'upgrade', go to Settings, Feature Options, and turn on the Performance and Usability upgrades for Speedgrader. If you hate it, you can always turn it off and revert back.
